1970s Guatemalan Cotton Poncho: Black & White Boho Woven Bamboo

1970s Guatemalan Cotton Poncho: Black & White Boho Woven Bamboo

$68.00

This is the perfect addition to your Fall wardrobe! This poncho can be worn on a brisk day to keep you warm, or on a lightly chilly day and still remain breathable. It is stitched with a soft cotton/organic bamboo blend and believed to be a Guatemalan-style garment. The tag translates to indicate that it was made at a fabric weaving mill in Guatemala, Villa San Miguel in front of the Totonicapan Park. The bird is a quetzal, which is a symbol of Guatemala.

The poncho has a metal zipper (YKK), and it works well. There are also two interior pockets that are large enough for a cell phone or wallet. In addition, there are two slits for your hands to peek through the poncho in the front (see photos). It is not stiff or itchy, and is quite comfortable and flowy. Due to its age, there may be a few stray strands, but no major flaws or pulls. Overall, this poncho is in good vintage condition. It is considered to be one size fits most.
